Like every year, we're excited for what is in store this New Year. We have a lot of great events coming up and we're busy planning (: Me and Keola have already started making some changes and we can't wait to see what good comes of it. A few changes for 2012 and also some events we're looking forward to:
So after months of debating whether we should have one more baby before taking a break for a couple of years, Keola and I have decided that it's best for us and our boys to wait it out for a little while. Money does not grow on trees for us and our financial situation is just enough for us to provide for our family and to give our boys what they need, with a little spoiling on the side (: If we chose to have another baby, our wallets would be a little tighter, so we came to the decision to get ourselves established in our own place first, become financially stable and invest ourselves into building a more grounded foundation for our family...before we think about multiplying the Folaumahina Clan! After going through our baby hungry phase, we are happily content and lovin' life! We're still young! Btw: If you're looking for a great birth control method, we LOVE the MIRENA =]
- College Funds, Family Life Insurance & Emergency Funds...
My parents are always stressing to me the importance of a College Fund, Family Life Insurance and especially an Emergency Fund. And in my eyes, what parent DOSEN'T think of those?? But like many things, it's easier said than done. Well this year, it's a main priority. I would LOVE to send my boys and future kids to college! Not having to worry about their future foundation and stressing about how their going to afford college is something I don't plan on doing. I'm thankful for our parents for starting this fund and motivating us to put into it as well (: Family life insurance is a fund that Keola started up through his job, so we're good to go in that area. Lol. As far as an Emergency Fund, it'll be nice to have one. We're doing better on saving up and so starting up a fund for emergencies will only help in knowing that we have a saftey net to protect us. Bigger savings, Better thinking!
With whats left of my school loans and some side bills that we have, we're excited to get our tax returns this year. Why?/ Because we'll be paying off most of our bills and we'll only have a few payments to make before we'll be DEBT FREE!! (: 2011 brought a lot of financial problems, especially towards the end of the year with all of Keola's court fees and lawyer fees...I've become extremely overwhelmed by it all and I seriously couldn't take the stress. Of course after talking to our families they reassured us that our debt, isn't really debt. As in my parents words, "That's small stuff"! But to me, I just hate the thought of being in debt, even if it's just a small amount of debt. It just sucks having it hang over your shoulder constantly, you know?? Anyways, they told us all our options and that considering our bills and such that we don't even fall in to the bracket of what's considered debt. Which is nice to hear. But still, being compeletely debt free is better than having any debt at all, right?? So our plan: Is to become debt free by this time, next year. It'll be hard work and a lot of sacrifices will have to be made, but sacrifices is what comes natural to us (: Anything for a better future! Bring it on!!
- NO MORE GOVERNMENT PROBLEMS!!!
Ugh! Fines, tickets, warrants, etc! Story of my fuuuuhreakin' life!! For the longest time I've been sick and tired of dealing with government bull! I totally get that I did some things that I had no business doing, but I fill like their milking every penny out of me and then to top it off, when I'm paying my end of things, they put out a warrant on some other crap that happened way back when!! Ugh! But I guess if it doesn't kill me, it'll make me stronger. But This year, will be the first year where I'll have my license back, NO fines, NO tickets and absolutely NO pending cases!! I do have a warrant, but it's on some petty stuff. It feels soo good to feel almost free!! I don't have to worry about everytime I pull out of my drive way and getting pulled over, don't have to worry about where I'll be and the possiblity of something happening and get caught up in it, I won't have to worry about anything! WORRY-FREE!! (: YESS!! Every year I have a resolution to keep my license from being suspended (failed the last few years), not getting pulled over (failed the last few years), not having to go to court, pay fines, or have a warrant to deal with (failed the last few years)! But this year, I already know things will be different. I can feel it. I'm soo done with the system. And btw-with Keola catching his last case, I truly believe the U.S justice system needs some sprucing up, because it SUCKS!! **Felony offenders don't have to pay for jail stay, but Misdemeanor offenders do! Whack!!
